I planned to visit the Museum of Anthropology on the University of British Columbia campus, so I took a pretty long bus ride to get there. The UBC campus has a very nice view. It is pretty big, too.

During my visit to Vancouver, I mostly only walked around. I think that is the best way to see things more 'clearly'. I only took the public transport, when I traveled to the University of British Columbia campus and Richmond.
When I was on the train heading to Vancouver, I met a very nice Korean/Japanese girl. Well, it was a 3 day trip and it must be very boring not to talk to other train passengers. On the train you really could see all types of people, such as people I would not have talked to. There was a guy who got drunk and harrassed other passengers. There was a girl who was apparently on drugs and hit on a much older guy. There was another girl whose grandfather was Japanese and grandmother native Indian.
The Korean/Japanese girl I met was from Vancouver and she told me what I had to see in Vancouver. She told me I could see a lot of nice cars in Gastown, so I went there. I could only find The Gastown Steam Clock. And I seemed to be the only one who showed interest in that clock....
I have not really had the chance to write about the sights I visited in Vancouver, most probably due to laziness. I arrived in Vancouver after a 3 day train journey all the way from Toronto. So I had not showered for 3 days. Fortunately, it was in winter..... Haha.

After I had arrived at the hostel I stayed at and taken a long shower, I went to explore the Kitsilano area that was close to the hostel. I did not know what to expect, because I had not really done my homework before I arrived in Vancouver.
So in the end I had only visited the Kitsilano Beach. I really liked it there! I had the feeling that Vancouver was a relaxing place, though my first impression of Vancouverites was not good.

I just picked some of the pictures I took in Vancouver and would like to show you how Vancouver is like. At least what I think it is like.
My first impression of Vancouver was not that good, because when I arrived after a 3 days train trip, people were not helpful. I needed to take the Skytrain (which was extremely short for a metro and very full) and then the bus to get to the hostel. Well, I could not find the bus stop and tried to ask some people there. They kind of just ignored me. Well, I did look like a tourist with my map and luggage. There was a guy in a suit who saw that I wanted to ask him where I could the bus stop and walked all the way around me.... Ehum.... Maybe he could not speak English or something. But still he could just have said that he did not speak English.
(閱讀全文)I tried to make 老婆餅 yesterday. And they turned out to be not that bad, although the dough was pretty hard and not as flaky as I had hoped. I made the according to a recipe I found on the internet. There are quite a lot of recipes available on the net. And I picked the one that provides the best result. Well, based on the pictures provided then. You can see the result of my first attempt of making 老婆餅. I think they looked fine. Haha....
