Canon EOS 450D Rebel XSi

I have wanted to get myself a DSLR so badly. I was thinking about getting a Canon EOS 350D Rebel XT, but that one does not have the Live View function. Since my eyes are not that good and I have got used to the screen of my Sony Cybershot DSC-H9, I do not think I want to get a DSLR without Live View. I have noticed that the suggested retail price is a lot lower in Hong Kong than in the States or Europe. So I think it is very tempting to get one, when I am in Hong Kong. But then the price will probably drop a lot, when there is a newer model. If I will get one in Europe in let's say one or two years, the price will probably be the same as it is in Hong Kong now. If I can get the Canon 450D with lens for less than 6000 HK dollars, I will get it in Hong Kong! Haha.

They do not move, so it is easy to take a picture of them.

I uploaded some of the picture I took at Keukenhof in April this year.
Photoshop

I finally took the time to learn some techniques in editing my photos with Photoshop! It was a little easier than I thought. First I tried to color parts of interest in black and white photos. And it worked! Then I tried to change the brightness/contrast and colors of some other pictures.

This is the before picture.

(閱讀全文)

Online photo printing service

I have not had photos printed for a while, because I was kind of lazy to select the pictures I want to have them printed and I really want to make a photo album instead of loose photos. My mum has been asking me why I have not had the pictures that we took 2 months ago printed. So I decided to do that anyways.

I have been using the service provided by the same company (a local supermarket) for a while. I think the quality of the pictures has been pretty good. They print photos on good photo paper. The handling costs are 0.99 euro and a photo (10 x 15 cm) costs 0.15 euro (or less if you print more at once). I tried other places for printing my photos, but they were not as good as this local supermarket.

(閱讀全文)

I wanna learn how to take better photos! After reading some tips on how to take good pictures I went through some of the pictures I took during my across Canada and the States trip. Let me find some 'better' pictures and show them to you.

More Lomo

After I got my first Lomo camera (which is a Fisheye 2), I wanted to buy the Holga. I saw the Holga 120 GCFN my 'niece' from HK used, when she came to visit. I think it looks pretty cool! The only thing is that it uses 120 films and they are kind of expensive here and it is expensive to have them developed as well.

I read about the adapter for 35mm film. Basically, it just consists of a slide for the 35mm film and a cover without any hole. You have to rewind the film manually. For this the roll of film need to be taken out of the camera. And this has to be done in a darkroom or inside a bag, as what I found on the internet.

(閱讀全文)

I finally got my Fisheye 2, when my 'niece' came to visit me. I took some pictures and had them developed in order to see whether the pictures worked out. I have not used a film camera for so long. I think I chose the wrong place for developing the film, because the photo paper was so thin and the colors of the photos were not that great. Only the pictures taken with a lot of sun light looked fine. Next time I need to use the flash more often.

(閱讀全文)
